“New Friends is a wonderful group.  My husband and I have a 29 year old cognitive disabled son who enjoys the high school students who help with the many activities.  The activities that are planned can be enjoyed by all.”   ~Nancy, Roy and Jeff Morgan

"The thing I love most about New Friends is that I always feel welcome. Everyone is nice to me and includes me in all of the activities. I FEEL LOVED!"

Manitowoc Lutheran High School has been blessed to be the founders of the first high school New Friends program. The program has been blessed with 58 families, along with a large number of teen volunteers.  All participants have been positively affected by the experience.  We started this program in 2010, where we met in a park with 3 families.  We have grown tremendously in these few years.  We hold monthly events, as well as participate in community events such as the Lakeshore Special Needs Prom and the Miracle League.

If you think New Friends sounds like something you might want to be a part of, or if you know of someone who might like to attend one of our upcoming events, go to our "Calendar" or "What's New" page to see when our next event is.

We would love to add you to our growing family!

“Our daughter Christina looks forward to coming to New Friends each month. She enjoys spending time with her friend, Lisa. It gives her a chance to interact with an adult figure and play and be herself.  Nancy and I enjoy meeting the other kids and parents. We really appreciate the students who volunteer for this activity."  ~Nancy & Gerry Paul

“I have made a whole lot of new friends. And it can be emotional. I can reach out to people and make a difference. I didn’t know I could before."  ~Brandon Glaeser
